Valkering Impact Group

The group's core value is providing a bridge between the Netherlands/Europe and Embasaki East; Nairobi/Kenya. As Europe ages, Europeans feel fearful due to the so-called replacement theory, in which native Europeans merely complain about the decline of benefits, while society is constantly evolving. In the Embasaki East region, or the Kayole/Soweto slums, life is hard. Unlike South Sudan or Yemen, there is no acute hunger or limited digital infrastructure, but there is a lack of everything, such as sanitation, streets, healthcare, food diversity, and education. In principle, a person born there is capable of reaching the same level as a person born in the Netherlands, but due to the absence of the aforementioned basic amenities, a secure future is not possible for them.

This is where Valkering Nursing School comes into the picture. Since Kenyan youth have access to reasonably accessible free primary and secondary education, basic skills are available. However, the step towards definitive vocational training is not free. This is where the Valkering Impact Group comes in. We offer this step for free to support future highly motivated Dutch-speaking Care Assistants from Kenya. Their goal is to reimburse every step and thereby enable new projects, ultimately creating a self-fulfilling bridge between Kenya and the Netherlands.

From Embasaki East, the Valkering Impact Group maintains continuous 24/7 contact with their care providers in the Netherlands, welcomes them, and offers support for genuine local programs, as well as support for larger projects in the Embasaki East region, such as Fred's Kitchen, SV support, and finally, projects supporting housing, cleaning, and so on.

Fred's Kitchen

One of our core initiatives is Fred's Kitchen, a community kitchen where children and local residents have daily access to nutritious meals. With this, we not only combat hunger but also create a safe place where people come together and support each other.
